Terminal Kargo Baru Bandara Ahmad Yani Diresmikan

Semarang - PT Angksa Pura (AP) I meresmikan terminal kargo dan pos baru Bandara Ahmad Yani, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah (Jateng), Rabu (23/1). Acara molor dari target pada Desember 2018.

"Perluasan kargo dan pos yang diresmikan hari ini, adalah jawaban atas tantangan peningkatan pergerakan barang, pertumbuhan trafik penerbangan, serta tentunya kebutuhan layanan yang tinggi dari pengguna jasa," ujar Direktur Pemasaran dan Pelayanan AP I, Devy Suradji.

Dengan adanya terminal kargo baru, dia mengklaim, bakal memudahkan para eksportir komoditas lokal Jateng untuk mengirim produknya keluar negeri. Dirinya kemudian mencontohkan dengan ekspor melati dari Kabupaten Tegal.

Sebelumnya, ekspor tersebut dilakukan melalui Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, Banten. Namun, kini melalui Bandara Ahmad Yani dan melibatkan Balai Karantina Dinas Pertanian (Distan) Kota Semarang.

Terminal kargo dan pos baru seluas 2.560 meter persegi. Sedangkan terminal lama, luasnya hanya 639 meter persegi.

Berdasarkan data, pergerakan kargo Bandara Ahmad Yani mencapai 17.630 ton pada 2017. Tahun lalu, nilainya menjadi 23.556 ton atau tumbuh 34 persen.
